"We have a secret in our culture, and it's not that birth is painful.  It's that women are strong."  - Laura Stavoe Harm

Services

Labor/Birth Support

Includes one prenatal appointment, two weeks on-call before and after your guess date, continuous labor support during early and active labor (by phone/text and in-person, as you need), 1-2 hours of immediate postpartum care, and 1-2 postpartum visits by 6 weeks postpartum.

Postpartum Care

Includes at least one prenatal appointment and postpartum care as needed and able for up to 6 weeks postpartum. Number of hours are worked out according to package and are carried out as our mutual schedule allows.

Extended Postpartum Care

Subscription service for extended postpartum services. Includes talk and text availability for help with the baby's first year of life. A great option for first-time parents!
Childbirth Education

Includes two four-hour classes on two consecutive Saturdays every 6 weeks. It is recommended that you pick the class date that is closest to your guess date without being later than 39 weeks gestation.
Bengkung-Style Postpartum Belly-Binding

Two options - I teach you how to bind yourself (or have your partner bind you), and you choose with or without materials provided.
How Can I Afford A Doula?

Who Needs A Doula?
Obviously,  women bearing children need a doula. Whether a home birth, a birthing center birth, or a conventional birth in a hospital, having a doula increases birth satisfaction, decreases the rate of unnecessary c-sections and unneeded interventions, increases the well-being of the mother, and decreases the rate of maternal mood disorders. Whether a woman wants to go "au natural", use all the pain killers available in a clinical setting, or have a planned c-section, a doula can help.

Some families grow in other ways; there is a large cross-section of foster/adopt families in the Longview area, and a foster family who suddenly has a newborn or even an older infant in their home can benefit from postpartum doula services.
